I became a Christian at the age of 9. I went to a church in Walton called Ebenezer. I was challenged at the age of 9 that I had sin in my life and Jesus wanted to save me and be my friend. The speaker was talking about a man who owned a house and he wasnt very good at house work so his house gradually got cluttered. Each day for a week a man knocked on the door and said that he would tidy up the mans house. Each time he refused until his house became untenable. The home owner eventually asked the man into the house and the garbage was cleared out. The speaker said that Jesus could clear our hearts of all the garbage in our lives. I asked the Lord to come into my heart to forgive my sin.  I have had the Lord in my life ever since. I was a youth leader at my old church from the age 19 till 30 when i moved to Northfield. God has really helped me gain confidence over the years. I had a turbulant time in my job in 2006 and I really prayed to God at the time. I didnt see it at the time but he wanted me to change and everything since has been planned by God. I can really see that. I have been blessed by playing in the churches worship band for the last 8 years. I truly believe that God loves us and want the best for us. I have seen it in my life. I urge you to check out more about the Lord. I have recently taken over the role of webmaster. I believe technology is a vital tool for fulfilling the great commision to go into all the world preaching the gospel

I began attending church at the age of three, with my family. From a very young age I knew about God and how He sent his only son, Jesus, to die for me, as well as others. Although I knew these things, they had little meaning until I started attending secondary school. I attended a Church of England high school and I found it extremely difficult to settle in. I was the only one from my primary school who had gone there and everyone else seemed to have come from primary school knowing at least one other person. The first few weeks at secondary school where really hard for me. It took me a while to make friends and there had been a few people who had made comments to me which I took quite badly. As it was a Church of England high school, we attended assemblies twice a week. It was during an assembly that I accepted God into my life as my saviour and my friend. The head teacher was telling us about how God could help us to forgive others for the things they had done to us. I believe God spoke to me right there and then. During that day I found it difficult to concentrate in my lessons as my mind was preoccupied with a few simple words which I believe God had placed into my head. I had been holding onto the comments that had been made by those in my year. I felt God simply saying to me ‘forgive them. I will help you. I promise’. I went home that day, went straight to my room and began to pray. I was in tears by the time I had finished. From that point I accepted that God was always going to be by my side, not just in my heart.
I am not going to say that life has been easy since I became a Christian because it would be a lie to say that it has. God promised in the Bible to never leave or forsake us. He did not say that it was going to be easy but He has promised to always be there, in the good and in the bad times. I truly believe that God is helping me in ways I could never help myself. When I am down, He reminds me that He loves me. When I feel weak, He reminds me that I can do all things through His strength. When I feel unforgivable or guilty, He reminds me that I am forgiven. He uses those around me as a reminder of these things. Encouraging words from those around me have helped me a lot in my faith and they still continue to.
Since starting Northfield Church in August 2009 I believe that my faith has grown immensely. He has brought some of the nicest people into my life and they are always willing to sit and pray or to just sit down for a chat. God uses people in great ways and one day I know that He will use me to do great things for Him. He has great plans for me and I am excited to see what these are.
