Pastoral
The Pastoral side of the Church is headed up by Gill Smith and she is supported by Jean Thomas. The Pastoral side of things are an integral part of the life of Northfield. Part of that includes discipling which goes on "one to one" throughout the church. There is also times for prayer in the main meetings and also a Pastoral drop in where you can pop in and see the Pastoral team.
Pastoral Care at Northfield
We desire to see every member of Northfield Church adequately cared for and brought to a place of stability and maturity. We are committed to individuals, helping them to the wholeness that God desires for them. Much of this will come through discipleship, relationship, teaching and fellowship, also through the nurturing of new Christians in Alpha courses and Freedom in Christ for example. Ministry times are also an opportunity where God can bring deliverance and healing and can move us on. We are aware that sometimes issues come up that need a little more help to be resolved. The Pastoral team aim to work through issues like these by sharing God's word and by prayer. Confidentiality in caring for people is a priority, so be reassured that if you approach us for help your need for privacy will be respected. If you are contemplating or are already using another organisation for support, we would encourage you to inform the Pastoral Leader. We feel this is important if we are to be accountable to one another, not to dictate, but for safety and protection. We are committed to working through problems and issues with you, so don't feel you have to struggle on alone. We all need extra help from time to time. We would encourage you to deal with situations as they arise; as this will help you develop a greater dependence on God and a deeper spiritual maturity.
